BUT WHAT'S IT ABOUTA?
Indebted to the mob, Bobby 'Boombats' Battali hatches a new business venture "Odd Job Bob" to avoid moving back home with his Italian mama and older, closeted, brother Lorenzo.
MEET THE BATTALI'S
This absurd dramedy focuses on the Battali clan.
Bobby 'Boombats' Battali is the hot-headed black sheep of this already unusual Italian family. He is recently separated from his wife and is the father to a lippy, hormonal, 12 year old Gabrielle. Bobby is trying to make a legit go of it with his 'Odd Job' business but is constantly being lured back into the magnetic grip of the local mob.
Nonna is a hard working, religious, matriarch who believes that the tonic to life's woes is 'more food'. Being a widow for the last ten years has made her even more protective of her two adult boys - despite their ongoing polar differences. She dishes out love like she ladles out rigatoni, spilling over, and often with apron strings attached.
Lorenzo is the meticulously groomed older brother and the apple of his mama's eye. He is a retired financial advisor with a great pension. Renzo is everything a woman could want but being a 'bachelor' and still living at home with his mama has fuelled the neighbourhood rumours about his sexuality.
